It's Time!
Well, the day is almost here.
Time to run!
We'll be flying out to Arizona tomorrow, and plan to start the run around 4AM Saturday morning.
During the run, one of the guys will be carrying a SPOT GPS Satellite Messenger which we plan to use to send location information from time to time, probably about once per hour if GPS coverage in the Canyon so allows.
If it works as we hope, those messages should appear as posts right here on this site as we send them. So, if you're interested in keeping tabs on how we're progressing, please check in here on Saturday, 4/24, for those messages. Each message will contain a link you can click to show our exact location on a map as of the time the message was sent.

You may ask why, but we won't understand the question.
"... Perhaps the genius of ultrarunning is its supreme lack of utility. It makes no sense in a world of space ships and supercomputers to run vast distances on foot. There is no money in it and no fame, frequently not even the approval of peers. But as poets, apostles and philosophers have insisted from the dawn of time, there is more to life than logic and common sense. The ultra runners know this instinctively. And they know something else that is lost on the sedentary. They understand, perhaps better than anyone, that the doors to the spirit will swing open with physical effort. In running such long and taxing distances they answer a call from the deepest realms of their being -- a call that asks who they are ..."
